The story behind the brush
We started RS Professional Painting & Restoration 12years ago with one focus: do the kind of careful work that San Francisco's old housing stock actually needs. We've never wanted to be the biggest crew in the city — we've wanted to be the crew you call when the job has to be right.
Specialists, not generalists
Most painting contractors work across the entire Bay Area, treating every house as the same job. We don't. We work exclusively in San Francisco, on SF housing stock, with materials specified for SF's microclimates. That focus lets us be specialists — in Victorian restoration, in lead-safe work, in stucco systems built for fog.
Built around craft
Every project lead has at least 8 years of paint experience. Our crews are W-2 employees, not subcontractors — which means consistent standards, consistent prep, and accountability that survives from first call to final walkthrough.
What we believe
Substrate prep matters more than the topcoat. Lead-safe practices are non-negotiable. A bid that's 30% lower than the next one is usually 30% less work. And a painter's real job is to leave your home in better shape than they found it.
